QUESTION: Is there a request for an insurance certificate form that is required to obtain a certificate for our event? ANSWER: Yes, there is a excel template form that must be completed to obtain a certificate of insurance. Contact the NWACC Treasurer for the form. This must be completed and sent electronically to the NWACC Treasurer 30 days or so before the event. At the time you send in the request by e-mail, your club needs to mail in the certificate fee (if any is required) by US Mail (Non NWACC Year-end Competitive Points events) so NWACC has your money to apply to the invoice we receive from K & K Insurance Brokers. The fee however DOES NOT apply to parades. From: Jason_Mowery@kandkinsurance.com Sent: Tuesday, April 04, 2006 10:57 AM FYI: There is no additional charge for parades. Those types of events are covered by the basic membership insurance fees. Caravans will be based on attendance & mileage only. They will not be based on the amount of days traveled. Caravans are trips that are more than 3 days. Organized trips, 3 days or less are considered Tours.
Well, I hope
this answers your questions but if not just let me know. QUESTION: What does the additional certificate fee apply to and how much is it?
ANSWER: QUESTION: What about a weekend event that has more than one type activity? ANSWER: If there is a parade at a weekend event with a car show, the car show fee applies. Also be aware that a weekend tour (3 days or less) has no additional fee but anything over 3 days, organized, traveling together to 1 or more specific locations is considered a Caravan, and there is a fee. If the autocross is on the same weekend with, say a fun peoples choice car show then it does cover the entire weekend. However, you need separate certificates for each venue or location. QUESTION: What if my club fails to tell NWACC about an activity and we do not need a certificate of insurance to be issued to one or more certificate holders? ANSWER: Clearly the fee is charged when NWACC is aware of the event (if a claim was to be filed and/or there is a request for a certificate). If NWACC does not know about the event then we are not collecting the fee since no certificate is requested and/or issued. As you might have guessed there is a bit of a gray area when it comes to the caravan activity. This is an “honor system” as you can see and hiding activities so that your club can avoid the certificate fee could result in your club and/or NWACC loosing its insurance coverage. QUESTION: Autocrosses and gymkhana’s that are “just for fun” are expensive. Where do we send the advance check? When does NWACC pay instead of our club? ANSWER: You are correct that the gymkhana/autocross (fun event) are the most expensive certificate, ($316.00). If your event is a non-competitive non-point or club points event, and not a sanctioned NWACC competitive point’s autocross you send a check at the time of the request for the certificate, to the NWACC Treasurer. If it is an actual year-end point’s autocross, Rallye, Concours, or Show & Shine, subject to NWACC rules then NWACC pays the fee and your club remits $5.00 per entry after the conclusion of the event.
