This special meeting was called to order by President Jim Duschel. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the future of NWACC.
Dave Kaiser announced that the treasurer’s report, with the proposed 2007 budget will be presented at the November meeting.
There were several options concerning the budget that were discussed in detail. Briefly the options were:
Leave the clubs annual dues at $75.00
Increase the “per member” charge from $5.00 to $10.00 for each registration at club events
Increase the “per member” charge to $15.00
Guarantee four autocrosses per year. NWACC could hold more if clubs do not hold them
Consider upping the autocross “per member” registration from $5.00 to $10.00
Leave car shows at $5.00.
Megan Renick (CDO) announced that she received a call from Mason County Corvette Club that they had disbanded and will not be
renewing their membership.
Jeff Kundinger (GOCC) asked for suggestions as to how to get his club more involved. Suggestions from members at the meeting
included the facts that many clubs would be willing to help and loan equipment to GOCC if they choose to host an autocross, and it
was stressed that a good way is to have GOCC members attend and help out at the Shelton autocross. It is in the doing that people
learn the how.
George Schwartz (CdeO) brought up the secondary issue that needed to be discussed was the increasing cost of Year End trophies
which average $1700. Per year. Discussion ensued and the consensus was that it is the recognition is what is important to the club
members and not the trophies. Nice certificates will replace trophies. This issue was voted on and passed unanimously.
George also announced that CdeO will be hosting an event this year in June.
There was discussion of the payment of club dues by NWACC to the club with the most participation. This year the custom will continue,
however a bylaw change will be submitted at the November meeting to discontinue this practice. The $100.00 for the most participating
member will continue.
By changing from trophies to certificates and doing away with the $75.00 club participation award, NWACC will save a substantial
amount of money.
Other discussion points were:
Let the clubs pay 100% of the certificate costs and no per member for shows.
Do away with judged NWACC sanctioned shows (Clubs could host on their own if they choose).
Clubs are asked to submit in writing by OCTOBER 31st, their candidates for the office of President. This is the only office term available
to vote on this year.
Lona Hyatt’s (CGCC) name is currently the only name submitted to date.
This was a productive meeting with much positive brainstorming put forth for consideration.
Dave Kaiser (MHC) will prepare his recommendations along with the 2007 budget and present to the representatives at the November
meeting.
The November meeting will be held at 4:00 PM on November 4, 2006 prior to the Year End NWACC PARTY. The meeting
will be held at the Tacoma Elks at 1965 South Union, Tacoma, WA
