NWACC MEETING MINUTES August 2, 2009 Rose City Classic
Member Clubs in Attendance:
President David Kaiser called the meeting to order at 12:35 on Saturday August2, 2009 in the K Mart parking lot. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved. Treasurer Elvira Tucker reported that there was only a $20.00 difference in the report since the July report was distributed.
George Schwartz gave the Vice president’s report. He reminded all of the upcoming last two autocrosses, both to be held in Shelton. The dates are August 16th and September 20th. Please advertise to your respective clubs.
There was a discussion about the Helmet requirements and if there is a need to change the Snell rating requirement. The consensus was yes it did need to change, but there was no final decision at this meeting. There is a need for a rule change to be presented at the November meeting.
There is a need for someone to honcho the food for the last two autocrosses. Meagan will try to get a commitment from CDO. At this writing this did not happen. Food will be supplied by individuals and lunch will cost $5.00. There was discussion of NWACC providing $300.00 for food, clubs provide the staffing and repay NWACC with the money charged for the lunches.
The September autocross is still in question. as far as the lunch is concerned.
The next NWACC meeting will be held at the Kit Karsen restaurant on October 11th. More detailed information to follow.
Tim Cox reported on the NWACC End of Year Banquet which will be held November 7th. For those wishing to stay, the Host Hotel is the Pepper Tree with rooms for $99.95 per night. The hotel is just 2-3 miles away from the Muckleshoot Casino where the banquet is to be held. PLEASE advertise this event to your clubs. All are invited not just members expecting trophies. It’s has been a fun awards banquet in the past and this venue should be an added attraction. The treasurer will send a letter to all clubs seeking donations to the host club to buy raffle prizes.
There will be a meeting prior to the banquet and the election of Vice President and Treasurer will take place. All nominations will be accepted until October 4th. In the same November there will also be a call to audit the books.
Security at the front gate at Patterson field was discussed. For the near future Gates will open at 6:30-8:30, close and lock at 8:30. They will reopen at 11:00-11:30. The gates will be unlocked only if really necessary. There will be a search to see if there is a way to hire a permanent firm or person to guard the gate in 2010 to satisfy the Port of Shelton’s requirement for a locked or guarded gate.
It was stated that there is a need for 5 members to tech from 6:30-8:30. This was agreed upon by all of the NWACC Reps present.
Watch for the official notice of the next NWACC meeting October 11th.
The meeting was adjourned at 1:30 P.M.
Respectfully Submitted
