NorthWest Association of Corvette Clubs

  (NWACC)

REVISED 3/22/09

  Just………What Is It?

The purpose of Northwest Association of Corvette Clubs (NWACC) is to assist in organizing Corvette Clubs in the Northwest; to increase participation in those clubs; to increase communication and cooperation among the member clubs; to improve the Corvette image in the eyes of the general public; to further the development and quality of the Corvette and improve the services available to Corvette owners.

This is an “umbrella” organization that assists all of the member Corvette clubs in the Northwest in the attainment of their individual club goals.  NWACC does not exist to detract from the individual clubs throughout the Northwest but to enhance and support  those individual clubs.

Each club that chooses to belong to NWACC pays dues to the organization. The dues paid are used for a variety of obligations on behalf of all participating clubs.  One of the more important responsibilities is the procurement of liability insurance by NWACC on behalf of all member clubs.  This is a Umbrella Liability insurance only.  It is secondary to individual car (vehicle) and club Liability insurance.

Additionally, NWACC provides the opportunity to meet and compete for event and season trophies and socialize with Corvette enthusiasts from clubs in Alaska, Alberta and British Columbia, Canada, Idaho, Oregon and Washington.

These clubs represent a wide and diverse membership with interests that range from static points events like Shine & Shows and Concours D’Elegance; to moving points events like; Autocross’.  NWACC also offers the Corvette enthusiast ample opportunities to participate in weekend get-a-ways in neighboring cities and states.  These are generally non-points events designed for getting to know other members, fun and socializing.  Life long friendships can begin at these events.

Any person and car, qualifying under NWACC rules, may participate without consideration of points if the desire is simply to participate in the event.

Sanctioned events for points include:

Shine & Show; this is a basic “hood up” clean car competition.

Concours D’Elegance; These is an all out, custom and “make it beautiful” competition.  This is for the serious competitive show enthusiast.

Autocross; This is a single car race against a time clock through a varying “pylon or highway cone” racecourse.  Cars are classified based on vehicle age, engine, wheel size and tires, exhaust systems, drive ratios, differentials, transmissions and body weight.

As an individual competitor, you can participate and place/win at a given event, and/or through the accumulation of participation points earn trophies for the entire season, which are awarded at the “End of the Year Banquet”.  Clubs are also eligible for season trophies at the banquet based on club participation.
