Sec Report: Minutes of
April, 2011 meeting approved as presented.
Treas Report: Len
Tucker was absent, but financial report had been issued prior to the
meeting. Financial report
approved as presented.
VP Report:
-
Competition season is underway (at least for autocross).
Second event of the year is June 19.
-
Currently 12 members at large.
That group has been as low as 1-3 in the past.
This is a good way for non-club members to participate in NWACC
events. There are some issues
with timing of their dues payment, but in general NWACC makes about $25
from each member at large.
Committee Reports:
-
Autocross (George Swartz). 35
cars at first event in the downpour.
We tried a new food vendor suggested by the Port.
Most reports are positive and we will continue to use that vendor
at those events for which individual clubs aren’t furnishing lunch.
Columbia River
is including an autocross for the first time with their Bow Tie Bash in
July. Forty cars went thru
autocross annual tech this year, which should greatly reduce the amount
of time required for tech inspection day of event.
George reminded the members that permanent numbers are available
for all competitors.
-
Equipment (Randy Free and Chuck Hulka).
RCC and CGCC have coordinated all their equipment and the
equipment has been updated and proven to be compatible, so we have
better backup coverage.
-
Banquet (Gwen Logue). Annual
banquet will be Nov 5, 2011, the first Saturday of November.
In 2010, we had 76 pre-registrants and a final count of 109
attendees. At Gwen’s request,
Columbia River is considering hosting the 2011 event and
Gwen has offered to help with the hotel/banquet negotiations.
-
Insurance (Dave Kaiser). Dave
recapped the negotiations with one club that had planned to do a 2500
mile, 12 car, 14 day caravan.
Insurance cost was negotiated to less than $300.
However, the club decided the cost was too high and so they
decided that although they were still going to do the caravan, it would
not be a “club event”. Dave
indicated that in the eyes of the insurance company, if a club solicits
participation at a meeting, discusses the caravan in their newsletter or
web site, the insurance company will probably conclude that it is a club
event whatever it is called. In
this case, in the event of an incident, the club would probably be
without insurance coverage. Dave
reminded the attendees that for any tour of three days or less, the
clubs should notify Dave to make sure the insurance company is aware of
the tour, but there is no additional cost.
For any tour of four days or more, there is an additional cost.
Club representatives are requested to report to their clubs that
if there are any questions about a tour/caravan, to just call Dave
before the event and discuss the specifics.
