Meeting Minutes: October 10, 2010
Copies of
meeting minutes for October 2010 had previously been distributed.
Corrections were made to 2011 autocross event dates. Hearing no further
objections, Chuck Hulka made a motion to approve the meeting minutes. Kevin
Jewell seconded the motion. Minutes approved.
Len Tucker: Treasurer’s Report
Copies of the
financial report were handed out. As of 10/31/10, balance is $5,443.93.
Len Tucker: 2010/2011 NWACC Budget
Discussion
For the 2010 year, NWACC spent approximately
$2,400 more than it received. Len took a stab at
formulating a budget for
the next fiscal year for NWACC. He welcomed anyone who wants to volunteer to
help him formulate the new budget.
George Schwartz: Vice President Comments and Autocross Committee Report
A few weeks ago, George received an e-mail from the Port of Shelton,
confirming the five dates that we will use for Shelton. They are as follows.
May 15. 2011
Autocross event hosted by NWACC
June 19, 2011
Autocross event hosted by NWACC
July 17, 2011
Autocross event hosted by NWACC
August 14, 2011
Autocross event hosted by Classical Glass Corvette Club
September 18, 2011 Autocross event hosted by
NWACC
The Port of Shelton is still working at putting their budget
together for the new year. George has been
told that there will be an
increase. Last year the port raised the fee to $20 overall and so George
does not anticipate a large increase. Once the port has their budget done
and the contract ready for George to sign, they will tell George what the
per-event cost will be. George does not foresee a difference in how the fee
is set up regarding the Sani-Can fee. George will be reminding the port that
they need to be more proactive in ensuring cleanliness regarding SaniCans.
When there is a Saturday event at the Port of Shelton for which someone else
pays, there needs to be some work done on the SaniCans to prepare for the
next day because there are only two units and there are 125 people for that
day. You cannot do it with the setup that they have now.
Randy Free: Autocross Equipment Committee
Initially, the committee’s focus was on updating autocross equipment.
However, even if you upgrade
the equipment, there will always be
incidences of equipment failure and so the committee has changed its focus
to equipment redundancy – maintaining equipment replacement parts.
Currently, there are two NWACC clubs who maintain autocross equipment.
Dave Kaiser: Insurance Committee
NWACC insurance program will continue to be provided by K&K Insurance.
Outgoing NWACC president. Dave Kaiser volunteered to continue on as
chairperson of the NWACC Insurance Committee. Incoming president Randy Free
accepted his offer.
About 50 percent of at-large members have renewed
their membership in NWACC. A new list will be forthcoming and Dave will pass
that list on to Jon Cox to post on the NWACC web site.
Nominations for Board Positions of President
and Secretary
Previous nominations were Randy Free for
President and Kevin Jewell for Secretary. No new
nominations were
submitted today and there are no write-in candidates. The NWACC Board of
Directors and Officers decided voting would be done by affirmation. No
opposition to either candidate. Both candidates unanimously approved.
Of note, Dave Kaiser as outgoing president will transition into the
position of Director. This position is not a voting position. Dave will also
become an at-large member. He asked that Randy Free who is the incoming
President to consider allowing him to serve as the At-Large Members
Representative to the NWACC Board. Randy agreed.
Changes to 2010 Constitution, By-Laws, and
Competition Code
Dave Kaiser submitted a rules change
proposal to the competition code regarding hosting an event,
specifically
regarding timing of scheduling an event.
Vicky McCoy, club
representative from Rose City Corvettes, submitted a rules change proposal
to the competition code regarding hosting an event and regarding awards. She
also submitted a proposal to the speed event guidelines.
George
Schwartz submitted a rules change proposal to the speed event guidelines
regarding wording in the title of speed event guidelines.
Members of
the NWACC Autocross Committee on Safety (George Schwartz, Randy Free, and
Kevin Jewell) submitted a rules change proposal to the speed event
guidelines regarding unacceptable driving actions and penalties.
George Schwartz submitted a rules change proposal regarding hosting an
event, specifically drivers and scoring.
George Schwartz and Chuck
Hulka submitted a rules change proposal to the competition code regarding
Show and Shine judging sheets.
Copies of the above-listed proposals
were distributed and discussion ensued and their electronic forms will be
available on the NWACC web site. Club representatives are to take the
proposal information back to their respective clubs for their vote. Then the
club representatives will vote on these proposals at the NWACC meeting on
February 12, 2011, in Puyallup. It will be a yes or no (approve or reject)
vote.
Audit Committee on NWACC Financial
Records
At the end of today’s meeting, George Schwartz
and a club representative from each of the member
clubs in attendance met
to function as the audit committee for NWACC financial records. A sign-off
sheet was completed and is to be forwarded to the treasurer Len Tucker.
